ABSTRACT

The tourism now at day, had been converted in a very important part of all the world, because it helps to the economy of the countries and it’s social improvement. The tourism now at days has been expanded very fast. That’s why in years ago it was thought in the multiple benefic that it could bring in different perspectives. So we are going to talk about the first person that started with this topic, and is considered the most important: Thomas Cook. A business man, and father of the modern tourism who created the Travel Agency.

Thomas Cook was born in November 22^th of 1808, in the city of Melbourne, England, son of Jonh and Elizabeth Cook. At the age of 10, he left his home to start a new labor experience, working as a gardener and at the age of sixteen he became a preacher. It was until July 5^th of 1841 when he organized the first travel of the history that would change the expectative of the people. Since here he created the Travel Agency with the finally of satisfy and make more easy the way of travel to its costumers. He died on 1892 at the age of 83 years leaving the power to his family

                In the other hand, the purpose of this investigation is to publish the transcendence and the significance that Thomas Cook had been created in the tourism subject. And to get the results about the level of knowledge of this important man between the students of Business Administration Institutions that are registered in the Autumn-Winter 2010 period from 5^th to 7^th.
